State Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, GOP candidate for Governor of California, made a stop at Walnut for his 11th Business Roundtable to discuss with business leaders about the state of the economy, jobs, education and taxes.

Mr. Poizner was joined by State Senator Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar, District 29) and State Assemblyman Curt Hagman (R-Chino Hills, District 60) who both have endorsed the Insurance Commissioner's quest to be the next Governor.

What was not reported by the paper is Mr. Poizner's optimism for California's future and acknowledges that the problems we have are man made, because of political failure that exists in Sacramento with unintended consequences.

It is refreshing to listen and witness a candidate who is willing to have a dialogue with substance by being human and showing empathy about the existing problems.

The critical aspects of being a leader is showing results with proven track record.  Mr. Poizner pointed out his ability to reduce and streamline the operations in the Department of Insurance, which is the only state agency has cut 15% of expenses.

It has been said that all politics are local and campaigns are retail, which can be a challenge for any candidate and obviously Mr. Poizner is taking his campaign through candid conversations without the glare of the lights, stage and teleprompters.

The people of California is yearning for leaders who are willing to step up to the plate to make the Golden State "Home" once again through optimism, action and hope.
