The Sanford affair continues to dominate the political scene across South Carolina and I do not see that changing through the holiday weekend. More and more prominent republicans and party officials have begun to call for Governor Mark Sanford to step down and focus on his personal life. Karen Floyd, South Carolina Republican Party Chairman released the following statement this week

"I have confidence in the findings of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, but the fact remains that there is clearly a growing view that the time may have come for Governor Sanford to remove himself and his family from the limelight, so that he can devote his efforts full-time to repairing the damage in his personal life."

The coming weeks will be interesting as pressure begins to mount on Governor Mark Sanford to resign as Governor of South Carolina. In an act of solidarity, the South Carolina Republican Party, Congressman Gresham Barrett’s campaign as well most of the other campaigns will participate in the Peach Festival Parade in Gilbert, South Carolina.  I plan on heading to Gilbert Saturday morning to show my support for Karen Floyd/SCGOP and all the Republican candidates running in the upcoming primaries.  The SCGOP and your favorite candidates need your support after one of the most difficult weeks in memory for the South Carolina Republican Party.  Show your support for conservative candidates and join myself and others for the Peach Festival Parade on July 4th in Lexington County.
