Is Board of Supervisors candidate Rita Vogler really inept or just trying a sandbag act?

This weekend the Victorville Daily Press reported that Vogler, who is the only remotely possible contender to Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt for representation of the First Supervisorial District, has interestingly not reported her campaign finance activity, which was due on March 21st.

In order for Vogler to have any sliver of a chance, she will have to raise money and spend a good chunk of her own for a run-off to have any chance of occurring. Remember, "No money, no message". Right now this writer can't see what the status of her finances are, since she hasn't disclosed, and four candidates in any election always brings the spectre of a run-off scenario based upon simple probablility alone. But like I said, finances matter. Vogler filing a fews days late can be written-off as an oversight or honest mistake, over three weeks however is intentional, especially for a seated member of a City Council!

So it will be interesting to see what Vogler's numbers show upon disclosure, whenever that may be. 

Now, turning to another front. All of the drum-beating over the Mitzelfelt-Postmus connection seems to be a red-herring at this point, especially given MItzelfelt's sound performance in office, and his openess on the recent raid of his former boss' department.

Mitzelfelt actually seems to care about issues affecting his residents. So, unless something else materializes here about Mitzelfelt directly, all the buzz and hyperbole is misplaced.
