California YAFers Help Doug Hoffman for Congress
By Scott Carpenter | 10/31/09 | 03:24 PM EDT | 3 Comments
Those who are familiar with the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) may know that over the past year YAF has been in a rebuilding stage and focused on growing the group on college campuses. In California YAF started 14 chapters in 2009, protested former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney at UCI and continued to advocate for conservative principles. National YAF hired a new Executive Director and is hard at work to make the organization a larger force in the conservative debate.
For readers who are unfamiliar with YAF, it is a principled organization that was founded in 1960 that promotes conservative ideals before partisan politics. YAF was among the first groups to back Barry Goldwater for President in 1964 and then supported Ronald Reagan for President in 1976 and 1980. YAF was founded at the estate of William F. Buckley, Jr. in Sharon, CT and spread nationwide shortly after. Being that Buckley was an early Godfather in YAF it is especially suiting that the current activities by YAFers include supporting Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman for Congress in New York. This match is fitting because William F. Buckley, Jr. once ran for Mayor of New York as a member of the Conservative Party.
Hoffman is now recieving help from YAFers nationwide, California included. If anyone in California would like to see what they can do to support Doug Hoffman for Congress please see the details below from YAF Executive Director Jordan Marks Facebook event:

"hunting for Dede head?"
Not just a dumb line, but outdated too. Check out the news. She already pulled out gang! This press release must have been written days ago.
And who is Jordan?
An unworthy post no matter how you slice it.

|Dear Anonymous, Look at the time stamp of when this post was written, it was about an hour before it was public knowledge that Dede was dropping out. Regardless, there is still an election to be won against the Democrat nominee. Furthermore, if you actually read the post you would know exactly who Jordan is. Thanks for your concern, but this post has produced numerous interested volunteers for the Hoffman campaign. So it was in fact quite worthy.

|This post was made about an hour before Dede withdrew from the race. With a race still to be won there is still a need to push for the voters to get out and support Hoffman. I explained who Jordan is in the post. A worthy post no matter how you slice it.
